1. The agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Laintone for using laintone.com and its services. By creating an account or using Laintone you accept them and our Privacy Policy. If you use Laintone for a business, you accept them on its behalf.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old and give accurate account information.
- Keep your login safe; you are responsible for what happens in your account. Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has access.
- One person per account. Don’t create accounts to get around limits, bans or referral rules.
3. Your music and content
You keep all rights to the beats, stems, artwork and text you upload. You give Laintone a limited license to store, process (for example convert, tag previews and draw waveforms), stream and deliver that content only as needed to run the service for you: to you, to the recipients you send it to, to buyers you sell to and, for what you publish, to the public. The license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies buyers have licensed and backups that expire on schedule.
You confirm you have the rights to everything you upload and sell, including any samples. Sample disclosures you give are your own statements; Laintone does not check sample clearance.
4. Outreach and your Gmail
Outreach sends emails from your own Gmail account, in your name, to the recipients you choose. You are the sender and are responsible for those emails.
- Only contact people you have a legitimate reason to contact, such as artists, managers and labels you work with or are pitching. No bulk unsolicited email, bought lists or scraped addresses.
- Follow anti-spam laws that apply to you and Google’s terms and sending limits. Stop contacting anyone who asks you to.
- Laintone may limit, pause or block sending to protect recipients, your Gmail account or the service.
5. Stores, marketplace and auctions
- Producers sell licenses to their own beats. The license terms shown on the listing (or agreed in an accepted offer) are an agreement between the producer and the buyer; Laintone provides the platform and processes the payment.
- A bid in an auction is a commitment to pay that amount if you win. The winner pays from Purchases; an unpaid win may be cancelled and can lead to restrictions on your account.
- If a payment arrives for an order that can no longer be fulfilled (for example it was already paid, cancelled, or the exclusive was sold to someone else), it is refunded automatically.
- Producers are responsible for delivering what they sell and for any taxes on their sales.
6. Payments, fees and subscriptions
- Payments are processed by Stripe. Producers receive sale proceeds through a Stripe Express account and accept Stripe’s Connected Account Agreement.
- Laintone keeps a fee on each sale, plus card processing costs. Current fees and plan prices are listed on the plans page.
- Paid plans (Pro, Studio) renew automatically each month or year until you cancel. You can cancel or switch plans at any time in Settings › Billing; a cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period, and you keep your plan until then.
- Plan fees already paid are not refunded for partly used periods, except where the law requires it. We will tell you in advance before changing the price of your plan.
7. Acceptable use
Don’t use Laintone to:
- upload or sell content you don’t have the rights to, or infringe anyone’s copyright, trademark or privacy;
- send spam, phishing or misleading messages, or harass anyone;
- post sexual, violent, hateful or illegal content, or images of people without their consent;
- manipulate plays, bids, reviews or referrals, or commit payment fraud;
- break, overload, scrape or get around the security or limits of the service, or access other people’s data.
We may remove content and limit, suspend or close accounts that break these rules, with notice where we reasonably can.
8. Copyright complaints
If you believe content on Laintone infringes your copyright, email [email protected] with the content’s link, the work you own, your contact details and a statement that you are the rights holder or authorized to act for them. We will review it, remove infringing content and act against repeat infringers.
9. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or close an account for serious or repeated breaches of these terms, or if the law requires it. When an account is closed, paid subscriptions stop renewing, and records of completed purchases are kept as described in the Privacy Policy.
10. Disclaimers and liability
We work to keep Laintone available and your files safe, but the service is provided “as is”, without warranties that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Keep your own copies of your original files.
To the extent the law allows, Laintone is not liable for indirect or consequential losses (such as lost profits, lost deals or lost data), and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid Laintone in the 12 months before it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Laintone changes. We will post the new version here with a new date and, for significant changes, notify you by email or in the app before they take effect. If you keep using Laintone after that, the new terms apply; if you don’t agree, you can delete your account.
